Sand collectors are important for quantitatively monitoring aeolian sand activities. In this paper, an automatic high-precision sand collector was designed. Based on the measured data of aeolian transport performed with a piezoelectric saltation sensor (H11-Sensit) and a 10 m high meteorological tower, the sampling efficiency of the automatic sand sampler and the horizontal dust flux of the near surface were analyzed based on observed data. The results were as follows: the best-fitting function between the number of impacting sand particles and the amount of collected sand was a linear relationship. The average value of R2 was 0.7702, and the average sand collection efficiency of the sand collector at a height of 5 cm was 94.3%, indicating good sand collection performance. From all field tests conducted so far, it appeared that a high-precision sand sampler was a useful device for making field measurements of horizontal dust fluxes and ascertaining the relationship between transition particles and wind speed. In the future, the equipment costs and wind drive will continue to be optimized.

Agroforestry can provide ecosystem services and benefits such as soil erosion control, microclimate modification for yield enhancement, economic diversification, livestock production and well-being, and water quality protection. Through increased structural and functional diversity in agricultural landscapes, agroforestry practices can also affect ecosystem services provided by insect pollinators. A literature review was conducted to synthesize information on how temperate agroforestry systems influence insect pollinators and their pollination services with particular focus on the role of trees and shrubs. Our review indicates that agroforestry practices can provide three overarching benefits for pollinators: (1) providing habitat including foraging resources and nesting or egg-laying sites, (2) enhancing site and landscape connectivity, and (3) mitigating pesticide exposure. In some cases, agroforestry practices may contribute to unintended consequences such as becoming a sink for pollinators, where they may have increased exposure to pesticide residue that can accumulate in agroforestry practices. Although there is some scientific evidence suggesting that agroforestry practices can enhance crop pollination and yield, more research needs to be conducted on a variety of crops to verify this ecosystem service. Through a more comprehensive understanding of the effects of agroforestry practices on pollinators and their key services, we can better design agroforestry systems to provide these benefits in addition to other desired ecosystem services.

The Three-North Afforestation Program (TNAP), initiated in 1978 and scheduled to be completed in 2050, is the world's largest afforestation project and covers 4.07 x 10 6 km 2 (42.4%) of China. We systematically assessed goals and outcomes of the first 30 years of the TNAP using high-resolution remote sensing and ground survey data.With the 30-year net reduction was 13.0% (4.05×10 6 ha), with 8.0% being accounted for by afforestation in areas with only slight, prior desertification. In addition to its direct impacts, the TNAP has enhanced people's awareness of environmental protection and attracted consistent attention and long-term commitment from the Chinese government to the restoration and protection of fragile ecosystems in the vast ThreeNorth region. The significant decline in forest quality, limited success in reducing desertification, and low coverage of shelterbelts are aspects of the TNAP in need of re-assessment, and additional ca. 34 billion dollars will be needed to ensure the completion of the TNAP.
