Abstract: Recent trend in climate variability poses a serious threat to sustainability of agriculture, hence food security across the globe especially in developing countries. Land degradation due to salinity and waterlogging, land fragmentation, labour problems and over exploitation of natural resources, further accentuates situation in these countries.
