Abstract

SummaryA recently‐described species of Agapetes, A. pentastigma J. Murata, Nob. Tanaka and H. Murata from Myanmar is illustrated. The genus Agapetes in the Myanmar region is reviewed and its morphology discussed.

1064. Agapetes grandiflora Hook.f.: Ericaceae

“…The specimen illustrated here (Plate 1064) was propagated from a collection from Upper Myanmar, which was reported in Tanaka et al (2016) and Murata and Murata (2020) as Agapetes burmanica W.E.Evans. According to suggestions by Tong et al (2022), however, we re‐identified it as A. grandiflora Hook., based on the combination of the following characters: regularly arranged large coriaceous leaves; a large straight corolla (5.5–6 cm long): short and widely triangular, obtuse calyx lobes; anther beaks spurred on the back; truncate (not capitate) stigma; large and adpressed globose fruits.…”
