“…Hypothermic preservation medium solution with ATP may serve as a superior storing solution for hair follicle grafts, especially for cases with extended graft storage. In a study by Beehner, 4 which used the endpoints of hair counts and hair quality, hypothermic preservation medium with ATP outperformed normal saline during ex vivo storage of up to 96 hours before implantation of these grafts, with the most prominent differences occurring after 48 hours. Similarly, we demonstrated increased survival of hair grafts in the group treated with hypothermic preservation medium and ATP compared with those stored in isotonic saline after 5 days ex vivo.…”

“…Bio-enhancement with the use of liposomal adenosine triphosphate (ATP) (ATPv adenosine triphosphate lipid vesicle solution Energy Delivery Solutions, Jeffersonville, IN 47130, USA) during initial 7 days every 2 hourly as a post-operative spray can make up for shortfall in oxygen and can lead to better growth of grafts. [ 23 24 ] The author also prefers to do bio-enhancement at the end of transplant with platelet-rich plasma therapy in both recipient and donor area. It stimulates angiogenesis and decreases anagen effluvium leading to early result of transplant.…”

“…For these reasons, it has been suggested that surgeons consider adding ATP to the holding solutions. 37 The form of ATP currently being used by some surgeons is a liposomal encased ATP manufactured by Energy Delivery Solutions (Jeffersonville, IN, USA). In one study examining the use of HypoThermosol and ATP versus saline, grafts were left outside the body for 96 hours and stored in either refrigerated HypoThermosol plus ATP or in saline alone.…”
