Abstract: Bulk and shear viscosity coefficients for systems composed of quasiparticles with medium-modified dispersion relations are determined within an effective kinetic theory approach of Boltzmann-Vlasov type. Local conservation of energy and momentum, which is self-consistently embedded in the kinetic theory, implies in thermal equilibrium thermodynamic consistency in quasiparticle approaches.

We discuss the interplay of screening, absorption and regeneration effects, on the quantum mechanical evolution of quarkonia states, within a time-dependent harmonic oscillator (THO) model with complex oscillator strength. We compare the results with data for R AA /R AA (CNM) from CERN and RHIC experiments. In the absence of a measurement of cold nuclear matter (CNM) effects at LHC we estimate their role and interpret the recent data from the ALICE experiment. We also discuss the temperature dependence of the real and imaginary parts of the oscillator frequency which stand for screening and absorption/regeneration, respectively. We point out that a structure in the J/ψ suppression pattern for In-In collisions at SPS is possibly related to the recently found X(3872) state in the charmonium spectrum. Theoretical support for this hypothesis comes from the cluster expansion of the plasma Hamiltonian for heavy quarkonia in a strongly correlated medium.

We calculate the masses of χ c (3P) states with threshold corrections in a coupled-channel model. The model was recently applied to the description of the properties of χ c (2P) and χ b (3P) multiplets (Ferretti and Santopinto in Phys Lett B 789:550, 2019]. We also compute the open-charm strong decay widths of the χ c (3P) states and their radiative transitions. According to our predictions, the χ c (3P) states should be dominated by the charmonium core, but they may also show small meson-meson components. The X (4274) is interpreted as a cc χ c1 (3P) state. More information on the other members of the χ c (3P) multiplet, as well as a more rigorous analysis of the X (4274)'s decay modes, are needed to provide further indications on the quark structure of the previous resonance.
