Abstract:The analysis of 205 prospectively investigated patients with Crohn's disease under conservative (112) and operative (93) treatment with essentially comparable distribution of age and duration of the disease resulted in a significantly better outcome of the operated patients judging by the time free of recurrencies and the frequency of recurrencies for the localisation of ileocolitis and colitis.
