Abstract:This year's highlights in halogen chemistry revolve around bromine-the discovery of a 2-D bromine-based network points to catenation on a scale previously seen only for iodine, and the first example of a bromane has been reported. For the noble gases many new compounds have been prepared, most significantly, a stable, isolable, alkynylxenon(II) compound, and the first example of a mercuryxenon complex. Whilst using the matrix isolation technique the first organic molecule containing krypton has been generated.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
