Abstract: Nominal Y0.3B&.6Na0.1CuO~6 thin films were prepared with small grains having an orientation of the c axis perpendicular to the MgO substrate. The electrical resistivity and the thermoelectric power in the absence and in the presence of a magnetic field are reported. The magnetic field dependence of the irreversibility line is discussed. The role of the field for disentangling intragrain and intergrain effects in both coefficients is emphasized.

“…6). Notice that the data are comparable to those found in the literature respectively for the thermal conductivity [14,15], the thermopower [16,17], the thermal diffusivity [18], and the specific heat [19], but obviously those data were obtained under different conditions and nonsimultaneous runs. The electrical resistivity ρ(T ) is shown respectively for the same 99.9% pure Goodfellow Cu, Y 1−x Ca x Ba 2 Cu 3 O 7−δ (x = 0.1) and Dy 1 Ba 2 Cu 3 O 7−δ polycrystalline samples between 120 K and 40 K for further discussion.…”

“…As for YBCO materials [1,2], it is of great interest to study the effects of Na ion substitution in 2212 materials since, beside providing some information on the chemical and physical properties of the system, it might lead to an improvement of their technological properties, such as the superconducting critical temperature and the current carrying capacity.…”

“…This, in turn, permits to provide a more reliable interpretation, since, e.g., systematic errors are minimised and the behaviour of one coefficient may suggest what physical mechanisms are responsible for the behaviour of other ones. Furthermore the measurements can be put in parallel on the simultaneous ones of k, S and the thermal diffusion, as described in [1][2][3][4].…”
