“…Recently, utilization of IGC is growing rapidly and evaluation of pharmaceutical materials such as mannitol, lactose monohydrate, trehalose and albuterol has been reported. [16][17][18][19] Though it is said more research is required for the fundamental understanding of this technique, IGC is considered to be a powerful tool to characterize powder surface. 20) In this study, we evaluated mechanofusion-processed lactose as a carrier for DPI containing Compound A, and evaluated the surface property of the lactose by IGC.…”

“…Inverse gas chromatography (IGC) has found widespread application in the characterization of surface properties (surface energy, heat of adsorption, and specific interaction of the surface) of polymeric materials [5] and recently pharmaceuticals [6][7][8][9].…”

“…The use of carrier particles with rougher surfaces was shown to increase [143,158,191,234,[237][238][239][240][241], decrease [21,158,242], or have no significant effect on FPF [243]. Direct proportional relationships were reported between the specific surface area of carrier powders and FPF [244,245], but the reverse trend was also reported [158,246]. Other studies indicated that there is no definite correlation between carrier powder specific surface area and FPF [247].…”
