7 Be Emission Cross Sections in High Energy Proton Induced Reactions on 51V, 93Nb and 197Au

Abstract: High energy proton induced reaction / Complex particle emission / (p, 7 Be) cross section / Radiochemical separation Abstract Cross sections were measured radiochemically for 7 Be emission from 51 V, 93 Nb and 197 Au irradiated with 800, 1200 and 2600 MeV protons. For 51 V the cross section increases only slightly with the increasing proton energy but for 197 Au significantly. At 2600 MeV the probability of 7 Be emission from all the target nuclei appears to be approximately equal.
