69‐1: Inkjet‐Printable Optically Clear Silicone Resin for Display Fabrication

Abstract: Inkjet‐printable optically clear silicone resins and fast photocurable optical silicone adhesive, exhibiting suitable viscosity for processability such as inkjet printing and dispensing, and excellent optical stability are described. The target utility of the optically clear resin is to provide a reliable solution for the fabrication of high quality display modules that require long‐term reliability.

“…Optically Clear Adhesive (OCA) is widely used in the bonding of materials within folding modules. However, traditional folded OCA has several limitations, such as long production cycles and high material costs [1] [2] . The cost of folded OCA includes OCA glue material, OCA coating production, release film, die-cutting production, transportation, inventory management, and other expenses.…”

“…To meet all the aforementioned requirements, a silicone-acrylic hybrid (SiAc-H) material could be one of the best candidates. Even though inkjet-printable silicone OCR was introduced, (3) high performance inkjetprintable OCR based on silicone is still necessary to be developed. Therefore, Dow developed a photocurable and inkjet-printable SiAc-H OCR for fabrication of display devices.…”
