Abstract

Purpose of the research: In this study; It was made in order to determine the opinion of the 658th Historical Kırkpınar Oil Wrestling spectators about oil wrestling techniques and head oil wrestlers.The importance of the research: This study is important in order to reveal the level of viewers' point of view on oily wrestling organizations by determining the opinions of the spectators who come to Historical Kırkpınar Oil wrestling about the oil wrestling techniques and the head oil wrestlers.The method of the research: In the study quantitative research methods were used by making necessary literature studies. Survey questions were determined by the researcher and interviews were conducted among the audience. In the study there are a total of 13 questions related to 4 socio-demographic, 9 oil wrestling techniques and head oil wrestlers. The study was applied to (n=173) oil wrestling spectators who were randomly selected in their 658th Historical Kırkpınar oil wrestling tournament in Edirne between 6-7 July 2019. The obtained data were entered into the licensed SPSS 23 program. In the statistical analyzes, the frequency of the percentages was evaluated by cross-tabulation and chi-square tests and the level of significance was determined as p <0.05.Research findings: The spectators participating in the study; (99.4%) male, (33%) are between 15-25 years old, (35%) high school graduates, (27%) students and (14%) retired spectators. In the ranking of the most performed techniques specified by the oil wrestling spectators; there is a "Künde" with (40%), a "Paça kazık" with (16%), and "Sarma and Dalmalar" with (12%). Specified by the oil wrestling spectators in the order of question; "Which head oil wrestler do you enjoy the watching" respectively; Ali Gürbüz, İsmail Balaban, Orhan Okulu, and Fatih Atlı are located. Specified by the oil wrestling spectators; In the most technical head oil wrestler ranking respectively; İsmail Balaban with (29 points), Fatih Atlı with (27 points), Ali Gürbüz with (20 points) and Orhan Okulu with (11 points).
