Sixth-generation networks (6G) are predicted to be started use by 2030, supporting the complex communication requirements of a data-centric civilisation where everything is interconnected. The research and academics started to analyse the 6G wireless network technology after the implementation of the 5G technology globally. The 6G networks will be more deliberate to extend cell communication and network capabilities to reach ultra-high-speed connectivity which could precede into the regions where the generation before could not. The new security features need to be advanced to guarantee the data is secure and protect the network from being invaded. The technology of blockchain and integration of the Internet of Things (IoT) has the prospect to revolutionize the networking system. This paper explores the applications of blockchain in IoT networking, addressing challenges such as security, scalability, and trust. Blockchain also enhances security, audibility, and traceability in IoT networks. Use cases in the supply chain, management, healthcare, and smart cities demonstrate the benefits of this integration. Challenges include scalability, energy consumption, interoperability, and privacy concerns. Future research should focus on addressing these challenges to fully exploit the potential of IoT blockchain applications in networking systems.

After implementing 5G technology, academia and industry started researching 6th generation wireless network technology (6G). 6G is expected to be implemented around the year 2030. It will offer a significant experience for everyone by enabling hyper-connectivity between people and everything. In addition, it is expected to extend mobile communication possibilities where earlier generations could not have developed. Several potential technologies are predicted to serve as the foundation of 6G networks. These include upcoming and current technologies such as post-quantum cryptography, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), enhanced edge computing, molecular communication, THz, visible light communication (VLC), and distributed ledger (DL) technologies such as blockchain. From a security and privacy perspective, these developments need a reconsideration of prior security traditional methods. New novel authentication, encryption, access control, communication, and malicious activity detection must satisfy the higher significant requirements of future networks. In addition, new security approaches are necessary to ensure trustworthiness and privacy. This paper provides insights into the critical problems and difficulties related to the security, privacy, and trust issues of 6G networks. Moreover, the standard technologies and security challenges per each technology are clarified. This paper introduces the 6G security architecture and improvements over the 5G architecture. We also introduce the security issues and challenges of the 6G physical layer. In addition, the AI/ML layers and the proposed security solution in each layer are studied. The paper summarizes the security evolution in legacy mobile networks and concludes with their security problems and the most essential 6G application services and their security requirements. Finally, this paper provides a complete discussion of 6G networks’ trustworthiness and solutions.

The world was unprepared for the COVID-19 pandemic, and recovery is likely to be a long process. Robots have long been heralded to take on dangerous, dull, and dirty jobs, often in environments that are unsuitable for humans. Could robots be used to fight future pandemics? We review the fundamental requirements for robotics for infectious disease management and outline how robotic technologies can be used in different scenarios, including disease prevention and monitoring, clinical care, laboratory automation, logistics, and maintenance of socioeconomic activities. We also address some of the open challenges for developing advanced robots that are application oriented, reliable, safe, and rapidly deployable when needed. Last, we look at the ethical use of robots and call for globally sustained efforts in order for robots to be ready for future outbreaks.
