59‐4: Late‐News Paper: High Transmittance and High Charging Rate 8K 120Hz ADS LCD TV

Abstract: A 65-inch 8K 120Hz ADS LCD TV based on novel technologies including New Oxide BCE, i-ADS , DCT-PS and SSD (Smart Sync Driving) , has achieved a high transmittance of 4.0% and a high charging rate of 92%. At the same time, BOE have developed the world's first 110-inch 8K ADS-LCD TV with 120Hz-driven.

“…The response time of HCR negative LC becomes slower due to the increase of 𝛾 1 value. [3] For HCR negative LC, the conventional one frame OD can't make LC molecule to reach the target state. We study the way of using two frames OD to make the LC reach the target state quickly.…”

“…In recent years, there have been significant developments in higher mobility oxide material systems such as indium gallium tin oxide (IGTO), indium gallium zinc tin oxide (IGZTO), indium gallium oxide (IGO), and other high mobility materials. These high mobility oxide materials bring improvements in refresh rate and resolution while reducing power consumption and bezel size [4]. Although the currently announced high mobility oxide TFTs can bring significant improvements in product performance, it also brings rapid deterioration in TFT stability, such as significant negative Vth shift in the device under light conditions.…”

“…Compared with 2K and 4K display products, the 8K display sets higher requirements for the liquid crystal materials ( Table 1 ). Firstly, as the resolution increases from 4K to 8K, the width and length of the sub-pixel become 1/4 of the original pixel, which lowers the aperture ratio and reduces transmittance by about 40% [ 9 , 10 , 11 , 12 ]. Consequently, the transmittance of 8K liquid crystal material needs to be 4–6% higher than that of 2K liquid crystal material.…”
