“…[1] Top-emission AMOLED displays cannot easily be "scaled up" to larger size panels due to the significant IR drop in the top electrode. [2,3] Therefore a mass production compatible technology for eliminating the IR drop in top emission AMOLED displays has continuously been sought after.…”

“…For example, for a 15~20 inch foldable panel, it can be used as a monitor screen when spreading, a pad or a book when folding or even a portable notebook with a virtual keyboard. However, due to many constraints like manufacturing process and equipment, production of top-emission flexible AMOLED display panel larger than 15 inch is still very difficult [7][8]. As a result, the market of mediumsized flexible electronics is still blank.…”

“…In order to achieve a uniform AMOLED display, many methods have been proposed [5] - [9], such as, the external compensation and the internal compensation. However, in order to achieve these compensation effects, complex circuits are needed, which would increase the fabrication cost and power consumption.…”
