57Fe Mössbauer study of CoCrxFe2-xO4 nano ferrite

Abstract: We report sol gel auto-combustion synthesized CoCr x Fe 2-x O 4 (x = 0.0 − 1.0) spinel ferrites, and use x-ray diffraction 'XRD', magnetic measurements, and Mössbauer spectroscopy to study the effect of Cr-content on their structural properties, magnetic properties, and correlation between them. Formation of single-phase nono spinel ferrite (grain size: 18.1 -46.6 nm), is confirmed by XRD. Results show that with increasing Cr-content, lattice parameter decreases, and Cr 3+ ions remain more populated on B-site,… Show more

“…With increasing Zn-content, the B-site population of Fe 3+ , Zn 2+ ions increases, and that of Co 2+ ions decreases. Variation of cationic distribution leads to modification of inversion degree range between 0.67 -1.0, Oxygen parameter range between 0.3786 -0.3870 suggests the variation of disorder; and is consistent with earlier studies e. g. in - [6,9].…”

“…Perusal of fig. 3 shows that with increasing Zn-content, decrease of θ1, θ2, θ5 suggests weakening of A-O-B, A-O-A interaction through concurrent increase of θ3, θ4 suggests strengthening of BOB interaction, and would reveal changes in magnetic properties is consistent with earlier studies e. g. in - [6,9].…”
