Abstract:A new electrically driven polymer stabilized polarization volume grating (PVG) is developed. Such a switchable PVG exhibits submillisecond response time, large range of diffraction efficiency modulation, and high see‐through quality. Its potential applications, including significantly suppressed rainbow effect and enhanced light efficiency for a waveguide‐based augmented reality display are demonstrated.
