50 Years of Regional Convergence in Turkey: New Data Set and Analysis for the Period 1960-2010

Abstract: One of the major problems of regional economics literature in Turkey is the lack of data. Regional data in Turkey rarely go before the 1990s. Moreover, outgoing regional data for previous years are not generally comparable. In this study, firstly, a comparable regional income data set was created for the period 1960-2014 through using the results of the studies made for the calculation of regional income data in Turkey.
