Some of these regions, including the amygdala, hippocampus, and nucleus accumbens, have been shown to contain 5-HT receptors and levels of these receptors are predictive of aggression in mice and rats (Nautiyal et al, 2015; Suzuki & Lucas, 2015; Kondaurova et al, 2016).
