Abstract: Background: MUTYH-associated polyposis (MAP) is a rare, and only recently described disorder resulting from mutations in genes encoding enzymes involved in DNA mismatch repair. These mutations result in an increased susceptibility to colonic adenomatosis as well as a variety of cancers.
