45.4: Advanced Grinding Development for Laminated TFT‐LCDs

Abstract

Reducing the overall thickness and weight of LCD panels for mobile display could enhance the aesthetic and eases use of portable display devices. However, laminated cells have unstable control on scribing and the edge strength would get decreased after grinding process. In this study, we illustrated an "advanced" grinding process which could remove the defect of scribed edge and get 40% enhancing by process optimized. Meanwhile, it also has 20%~50% strength improving for laminated cells with thickness from 0.3mm to 0.8mm..
