3He break-up and quasi-free7Li(p, α)4He reaction at low energies

Abstract

Abstract:7Li(p,a)4He'" quasi-free reaction contributions in the 7Li(SHe,aa)2H reaction are examined at low incident SHe energies. Introduction:The cluster structure of light nuclei is commonly studied with the quasi-free scattering and reactions (QFS and QFR). SHe was often the subject of these studies, especially using proton beams in the intermediate energy region [i]. Break-up of SHe on complex nuclei were also studied for energies higher than 30 MeV [2]. A detailed study of different QFR in the 2H+SHe interaction was done for incident energies between 20 and 55 MeV [S]. However, there were no studies of QFR, involving SHe constituents, at very low energies comparable with the deuteron separation energy in SHe (Es=5.49 MeV). The aim of this study was to establish the importance of these processes at these energies. The 7Li(SHe,aa)2H reaction was chosen because of its high Q-value, consequence of which is the relatively high momentum transferred to the outgoing particles.
