Abstract

Aims and ScopeEarly Devebpmmt and Parenting reviews and reports theoretical, empirical and methodological studies covering all aspects of psychological development during infancy and early childhood, with a special emphasis on parenting. The practical implications of these studies for intervention, treatment and care will be of special interest.While the journal has a special emphasis on parenting, it welcomes, as well, 'mainstream' papers concerned with early cognitive (including language), perceptual and motor development. Papers of an interdisciplinary nature are of particular interest as well as reviews providing clear links between theory and practice which are of relevance for practitioners concerned with child health and development. In these respects the scope of the journal will not only encompass psychology, but also child psychiatry, behavioural and social paediatrics, and the caring professions. The submission of crosscultural and primate studies addressed to early development, and in particular to the role of parenting, is encouraged.
