The aim of this study was to explore the application value of transvaginal color Doppler ultrasound based on the improved mean shift algorithm in the diagnosis of idiopathic premature ovarian failure (POF). In this study, 80 patients with idiopathic POF were selected and included in the experimental group, and 40 volunteers who underwent health examinations during the same period were selected and included in the control group, who underwent transvaginal Doppler ultrasound examination. At the same time, an improved mean shift algorithm was proposed based on artificial intelligence technology and applied to ultrasound image processing. In addition, the ovarian artery parameters of patients were compared in two groups, including peak systolic flow rate (PSV), diastolic flow rate (EDV), resistance index (RI), and pulsatile index (PI). The results showed that the relative difference degree (RDD) of the segmentation results of the algorithm in this study was significantly lower than that of Snake, Live_wire, and the traditional mean shift algorithm, while the relative overlap degree (ROD) and Dice coefficient were opposite, and the differences were significant (P<0.05). The mediolateral diameter of control group was 2.87±0.31cm, and the anteroposterior diameter was 1.86±0.28 cm; while those were 2.11±0.36 cm and 1.13±0.34 cm, respectively, in the experimental group, showing significant differences between the groups (P<0.05). Of the 80 patients in the experimental group, 132 cases with ovarian arteries were found; among 40 patients in the experimental group, 76 cases were found with ovarian arteries, and the hemodynamic detection rate of the experimental group was significantly lower than that of the control group (P<0.05). The ovarian artery parameters PI, RI, and S/D of the experimental group were significantly higher than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The results showed that the segmentation results of the improved algorithm in this study were more superior to the segmentation results of other algorithms. The regional information loss of the segmentation results was not serious, and the resolution was higher and the definition was higher. The transvaginal color Doppler ultrasound based on the artificial intelligence segmentation algorithm can clearly show the functional status and hemodynamics of the patient’s ovaries. The ovarian artery parameters PI and RI can be used as specific indicators for evaluating the POF.

To explore the application value of accelerated rehabilitation surgery (ERAS) nursing in laparoscopic total hysterectomy, 120 patients who underwent laparoscopic total hysterectomy for benign uterine diseases in the hospital were selected as the research object. According to different nursing schemes, they were divided into 60 cases in the experimental group (ERAS nursing program) and 60 cases in the control group (traditional perioperative nursing). All patients underwent postoperative ultrasonography, and the intraoperative and postoperative rehabilitation indexes of the two groups were analyzed. Moreover, an improved standard Capon beamforming (ISCB) algorithm is proposed, which is compared with SCB algorithm, sequential regression algorithm (SER), and recursive least square (RLS) algorithm. The results showed that the center average power and background average power (−46.92, −33.85) of the ISCB algorithm were significantly lower than those of SCB algorithm (−36.18, −23.64), SER algorithm (−39.02, −27.31), and RLS algorithm (−34.88, −24.66), while the contrast and resolution (19.11, 15.57) were significantly higher than those of SCB algorithm (12.74, 9.01), SER algorithm (13.86, 7.89), and RLS algorithm (13.26, 8.26) P < 0.05 . The anal exhaust time (11.84 ± 2.15 hours), analgesic effect score (3.37 ± 1.03 points), hospitalization days (3.72 ± 0.74 days), and hospitalization expenses (11859.03 ± 735.24 ¥) in the experimental group were significantly lower than those in the control group (20.95 ± 3.44 hours, 6.12 ± 1.46 points, 5.48 ± 0.91 days, 16135.22 ± 680.55 ¥) P < 0.05 . The score of NRS evaluation scale in the experimental group (2.28 ± 0.37) was significantly better than that in the control group (4.09 ± 0.65) P < 0.05 . The proportion of patients in the experimental group (very satisfied + satisfied + generally satisfied) (100%) was significantly better than that in the control group (71%), and the difference was statistically significant P < 0.05 . In the experimental group, there were 2 cases of postoperative fever, 1 case of nausea and vomiting, and 2 cases of lower extremity venous thrombosis. In the control group, there were 4 cases of postoperative fever, 4 cases of nausea and vomiting, and 2 cases of lower extremity venous thrombosis. In summary, ultrasound imaging based on the ISCB algorithm can display the pelvic floor structure of patients undergoing laparoscopic total hysterectomy with high quality and improve the diagnostic rate of doctors. ERAS nursing can accelerate patients’ postoperative rehabilitation, reduce postoperative pain, and improve patients’ satisfaction. It was worthy to be popularized and applied in the clinic.

Validation of Scolioscan Air-Portable Radiation-Free Three-Dimensional Ultrasound Imaging Assessment System for Scoliosis

To diagnose scoliosis, the standing radiograph with Cobb’s method is the gold standard for clinical practice. Recently, three-dimensional (3D) ultrasound imaging, which is radiation-free and inexpensive, has been demonstrated to be reliable for the assessment of scoliosis and validated by several groups. A portable 3D ultrasound system for scoliosis assessment is very much demanded, as it can further extend its potential applications for scoliosis screening, diagnosis, monitoring, treatment outcome measurement, and progress prediction. The aim of this study was to investigate the reliability of a newly developed portable 3D ultrasound imaging system, Scolioscan Air, for scoliosis assessment using coronal images it generated. The system was comprised of a handheld probe and tablet PC linking with a USB cable, and the probe further included a palm-sized ultrasound module together with a low-profile optical spatial sensor. A plastic phantom with three different angle structures built-in was used to evaluate the accuracy of measurement by positioning in 10 different orientations. Then, 19 volunteers with scoliosis (13F and 6M; Age: 13.6 ± 3.2 years) with different severity of scoliosis were assessed. Each subject underwent scanning by a commercially available 3D ultrasound imaging system, Scolioscan, and the portable 3D ultrasound imaging system, with the same posture on the same date. The spinal process angles (SPA) were measured in the coronal images formed by both systems and compared with each other. The angle phantom measurement showed the measured angles well agreed with the designed values, 59.7 ± 2.9 vs. 60 degrees, 40.8 ± 1.9 vs. 40 degrees, and 20.9 ± 2.1 vs. 20 degrees. For the subject tests, results demonstrated that there was a very good agreement between the angles obtained by the two systems, with a strong correlation (R2 = 0.78) for the 29 curves measured. The absolute difference between the two data sets was 2.9 ± 1.8 degrees. In addition, there was a small mean difference of 1.2 degrees, and the differences were symmetrically distributed around the mean difference according to the Bland–Altman test. Scolioscan Air was sufficiently comparable to Scolioscan in scoliosis assessment, overcoming the space limitation of Scolioscan and thus providing wider applications. Further studies involving a larger number of subjects are worthwhile to demonstrate its potential clinical values for the management of scoliosis.
