Online laboratories help students to perform laboratory assignments from different geographical locations, through the use of internet. A possible configuration is the hybrid laboratories, that includes the use of a physical local experiment equipment, and a set of either virtual or remote laboratory components. One of the issues of this type of setups is how to determine whether the student is really performing the lab activities or she/he is presenting somebody else work. Therefore, it is important to take all the necessary steps to keep the students engaged while preventing academic dishonesty. This paper proposed a prototype of an Anti-Cheating student lab kit case, which can help to prevent plagiarism and cheating in the engineering laboratories. This case includes several measures to avoid dishonesty in engineering courses, such as software and hardware solutions. This paper will go into more detail of how the student lab kit case was designed and what challenges were faced during its implemenation.
