Keywords: 3D printing, additive technology, wood, wood residues, wood-plastic composites niku prilagojeni izdelki. Veliko razvoja je bilo narejenega na samih tehnikah kot tudi materialih. Ob nižanju cen 3D-tiskalnikov na trgu so le-ti postali dostopnejši tudi za vsakdanjo domačo uporabo tiskanja. Že število iskanj termina »3D printing« na Google pokaže izrazit porast: od leta 2007 do 2015 se je število iskanj tega termina 25-krat povečalo (Wimmer et al., 2015).Osnovni princip dodajalnih tehnologij je grajenje izdelka po plasteh ali slojih, z dodajanjem materiala v slojih, za razliko od klasičnih obdelovalnih tehnik, kjer izdelek običajno izdelamo z odvzemanjem materiala (odrezovalne tehnike), preoblikovanjem materiala (npr. litje, kovanje) ali pa povezovanjem (varjenje, pritrjevanje) (Conner et al., 2014). Izdelava modelov s 3D-tiskanjem je razmeroma enostavna, saj digitalnemu modelu izdelka z ustreznim programom omogočimo razrez STL/AMF/OBJ datotek na tiskalne plasti, ki določijo 3D-tiskalniku pot, ki jo mora opraviti do celovitega končnega izdelka. Pri izdelovanju z odvzemanjem materiala orodje vedno potrebuje prosto UVOD INTRODUCTIONDodajalne tehnologije (ang. additive technologies) je izraz za vrsto različnih tehnik izdelave, katerim je skupno grajenje izdelka po plasteh/slojih. Pogovorno se te tehnologije pogosto imenuje kar 3D-tiskanje, kar izhaja iz ene prvih tehnik, kjer je bilo vezivo nanašano na podoben način kot pri običaj-nem 2D-tiskanju -brizganje tekočine iz posebnih kartuš (v primeru 3D-tiska -brizganje tekočega veziva na plast praškastega materiala). Nekoč pogost izraz je bil tudi hitro prototipiranje (ang. Four dimensional (4D) printing is an emerging technology with great capacity for fabricating complex, stimuli-responsive 3D structures, providing great potential for tissue and organ engineering applications. Although the 4D concept was first highlighted in 2013, extensive research has rapidly developed, along with more-in-depth understanding and assertions regarding the definition of 4D. In this review, we begin by establishing the criteria of 4D printing, followed by an extensive summary of state-of-the-art technological advances in the field. Both transformation-preprogrammed 4D printing and 4D printing of shape memory polymers are intensively surveyed. Afterwards we will explore and discuss the applications of 4D printing in tissue and organ regeneration, such as developing synthetic tissues and implantable scaffolds, as well as future perspectives and conclusions.

Abstract:The 2020 toy and game market is projected to be US$135 billion. To determine if 3D printing could affect these markets if consumers offset purchases by 3D printing free designs, this study investigates the 100 most popular downloaded designs at MyMiniFactory in a month. Savings are quantified for using a Lulzbot Mini 3D printer and three filament types: commercial filament, pellet-extruded filament, and post-consumer waste converted to filament with a recyclebot. Case studies probed the quality of: (1) six common complex toys; (2) Lego blocks; and (3) the customizability of open source board games. All filaments analyzed saved the user over 75% of the cost of commercially available true alternative toys and over 90% for recyclebot filament. Overall, these results indicate a single 3D printing repository among dozens is saving consumers well over $60 million/year in offset purchases. The most common savings fell by 40%-90% in total savings, which came with the ability to make novel toys and games. The results of this study show consumers can generate higher value items for less money using the open source distributed manufacturing paradigm. It appears clear that consumer do-it-yourself (DIY) manufacturing is set to have a significant impact on the toy and game markets in the future.
