3D metal printed slot antenna array with high gain and enhanced bandwidth using triple‐mode sine corrugated cavity resonator

Jiayu Rao,

et al.

Abstract: This letter proposes a class of sine corrugated cavity resonators (SCCR). The SCCR can present slow‐wave features and provide dual‐mode (TE104 and TE105) wideband responses with reasonable sine period and depth. Based on it, a compact high‐gain bandwidth‐enhanced SCCR slot antenna array is designed. The high gain is obtained with seven radiation slots and the wideband is achieved due to three modes being utilised. The three modes include the modes of TE104 and TE105 of the SCCR and one feed slot mode. Compared… Show more

“…A K-band array antenna (18-27 GHz) was formed, which combined dipole array, feeding network, and parasitic rings that were fabricated with wet etching of printed circuit board (PCB). 25 The quasi-pyramidal horn was 3D printed from aluminium alloy powder by The sine corrugated cavity resonators (SCCRs) for Ku-band applications 26 are designed for precise control of depth and period, resulting in slow-wave characteristics and wideband dual-mode responses. The study also introduced a compact slot antenna array designed using the SCCR, offering both wide bandwidth and high gain.…”

“…The patterns of radiation were stable, and simulation and results from the experiment agreed at 20.4 GHz with high gain and broad impedance bandwidth.
