Abstract:Conclusions: This report is the first to highlight overall seroprevalence and active HCV infection rates within the general rural ED population in Seneca, SC with discovery of new active HCV epidemic (overall RNA positivity rate of 1.8%). Successful augmentation of public health screening efforts within a rural ED can offer similar screening utility and results as compared to large urban EDs.
