Abstract: Background Serum (1-- >3)-b-D-glucan (BDG) assay is a noninvasive serological marker that can be used as an adjunct to the diagnosis of invasive candida infections, Pneumocystis jiroveci pneumonia (PJP) as well as aspergillosis.
