33‐4: Enhanced Adhesion and Stability of Silver Nanowire Transparent Electrode for OLED by Compositing with a Biocompatible Polymer without High Temperature Treatment

Abstract: Highly-smooth AgNW/alginate film with Rs of 2.5 Ω/sq and transmittance of 86% is achieved by CaCl 2 treatment and mechanical pressing. Dipped into CaCl 2 solution, the AgNWs are better-welded, and film adhesion and stability are improved significantly. The OLED employing this composite film as anode presents better performance than ITO device.

“…Many literature works reported about the potential of cellulose-based substrates for the realization of flexible OLED devices. [13][14][15][16] Flexible OLEDs were also fabricated on other biocompatible and bio-derived substrates based on silk fibroin, 17 alginate, 18 and a starch/polyvinyl alcohol/chitosan ternary blend. 19 Unfortunately, the mentioned natural materials show some drawbacks such as the high cost and the large batch-to-batch variability that make their application on large scale difficult.…”
