Actinobacteria / Actinobacteria / Frankiales / Frankiaceae
A group of slow‐growing aerobic to microaerophilic soil‐inhabiting mesophilic, mostly nitrogen‐fixing, organisms in symbiosis with pioneer plants belonging to three orders and more than 20 genera of dicots. Some lineages do not have the ability to establish symbiosis with plants and do not fix nitrogen. The position of the family has fluctuated markedly in the various taxonomical treatments that differed on the approach used, but they now consist of the genus
