“…We also agree with other authors [10] that it’s not possible to establish direct causal correlation between vaccination and uveitis, only presumable. But the increasing amount of reports with similar temporal correlations should draw our attention to a new spectrum of adverse reactions, especially in association to isolated YF vaccines.…”

“…Likewise our patient, Biancardi and Moraes [10] reported ocular inflammation cases after YF fractional dose vaccination but presenting as anterior or intermediate uveitis. Stangos et al [11] as well as Escott et al reported cases of posterior uveitis but secondary to combined vaccination for yellow fever and hepatitis A.…”

“…Acute anterior and intermediate uveitis presented by our patient 2 to 3 weeks after YFV vaccination could be related to the vaccine. Yellow fever vaccination is known to be associated with uveitis and other ophthalmologic manifestations such as vasculopathy and optic neuritis, even if the frequency of these manifestations is unknown [17]. The cerebro-spinal liquid analysis was not performed in our case.…”

“…There also exist case reports of ocular disorders associated with YFV vaccination, especially when the live YFV vaccine is combined with other vaccines, such as Neisseria Meningitidis, Hepatitis A/B or Typhoid. The reported complications are varied and include uveitis, unilateral optic neuropathy, evanescent white dot syndrome, multifocal choroiditis, arteriolar occlusion and even a Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada-like disease (with accompanying serous retinal detachment and choroidal thickening) [109,168,169]. These conditions are rarely reported and most often self-limiting with a favourable course over a few weeks with simple supportive anti-inflammatory treatment.…”
