O: A New V 4+ Layer Structure Related to VOF 3 . -Single crystals of the title compound are prepared by hydrothermal reaction of VF 3 and H 2 SeO 3 in ethylene glycol/HF (40%) in the presence of Et 2 NH (autoclave, 393 K, 4 d). The compound crystallizes in the monoclinic space group C2/c (Z = 4, single crystal XRD) and features an infinite V 4+ -containing 2D layer of F-bridged corner-and edge--sharing VOF 4 (H 2 O) off-centered octahedral building units. La 2 CuSbS 5 crystallizes in a new structure type (space group Ima2, Z = 4; single crystal XRD) with isolated (CuS 4 ) 7tetrahedra linked together by (SbS) + groups. La 2CuBiS5 and Ce2CuBiS5 crystallize with the La2CuInSe5 structure type (space group Pnma, Z = 4). Similarities and differences between both structures are discussed.
