2P2-Q12 Contactless manipulation using multiple air jets : Planar 3DOF case(Informative Motion & Motion Media)

Abstract

We have proposed a technolegy for manipulating the position and orientation of an object in a contactless manner using multiple air jets ． By regulating the air jet directions and flow rates ， the object can be actively' " force closured " and its position and orientation can be manipulated freely ． In this paper， we report an experimental system with 3 DOF ( 2 translational DOF and l rotational DOF ) using four air jets on a planar surface ．
