Abstract:We have proposed a technolegy for manipulating the position and orientation of an object in a contactless manner using multiple air jets . By regulating the air jet directions and flow rates , the object can be actively' " force closured " and its position and orientation can be manipulated freely . In this paper, we report an experimental system with 3 DOF ( 2 translational DOF and l rotational DOF ) using four air jets on a planar surface .
