Abstract:Cellobiohydrolase is a new type of linear molecular motor that hydrolyzes crystalline cellulose into water-soluble disaccharide at solid/liquid interface. Here, with single-molecule fluorescence microscopy and highspeed AFM, we revealed the adsorption-desorption dynamics and linear translocation of Trichoderma reesei cellobiohydrolase (TrCel7A) hydrolyzing Type I α crystalline celluloses. TrCel7A showed binding rate constant of 9.7 × 10 6 M -1 μm -2 s -1 , including productive and non-productive binding that l… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
