2D Graphene Sheets as a Sensing Material for the Electroanalysis of Zileuton

Abstract: Zileuton (ZLT) is an active oral inhibitor of enzyme 5-lipoxygenase, and long-term intake and overdose of ZLT cause adverse effects, leading to critical conditions in patients. This is a well-recognized issue that necessitates a better approach for ZLT sensing. Given the increasing interest in ZLT sensing and the limitations of previous techniques, there is a need for a highly sensitive, robust, and fast operation method that is inexpensive and easy to use. Thus, for the sensitive detection and determination o… Show more

“…S 7 (B), which indicates the involvement of protons in the electrochemical oxidation of DMMP at the surface of GCS 2 . Generally, the number of protons participating in the electrochemical reaction was calculated for the reversible or quasi-reversible electrode reaction process [ 64 ]. This slope value of 0.067 V/ pH was close to the Nernst slope of 0.059 V/ pH at 25 °C.…”

“…The surface contains a delocalized π-electron system that allows for fluid electron motion. The single layer of narrow, lengthened strips known as graphene nanoribbons (GNRs) has a high surface area and unique thermal, mechanical, electrical, and optical properties. The 30 nm (diameter) thick graphene sheets that make up graphene nanoflakes (GNFs) have pristine aromatic systems and COOH group terminated edges. The structural and dynamic properties of GNRs are influenced by the size and level of oxidation. The surface’s water dipole orientation is unaffected by the rough and curved GNR structure …”

“…For the molecular diode, its high resistance results in high heat generation and low service life [15,16]. Owing to the excellent physical performance of low-dimensional materials at the atomic scale [17][18][19][20][21], rectifiers based on a low-dimensional heterojunction or asymmetric structures have been investigated, and have demonstrated fascinating characteristics [22][23][24]. For example, a rectification ratio (RR) exceeding 5 × 10 3 was obtained in a planar metal-insulator-semiconductor field-effect device based on monolayer graphene and armchair graphene nanoribbon [25].…”
