Electrothermal Local Annealing via Graphite Joule Heating on Two-Dimensional Layered Transistors

Abstract: A simple but powerful device platform for electrothermal local annealing (ELA) via graphite Joule heating on the surface of transition-metal dichalcogenide, is suggested here to sustainably restore intrinsic electrical properties of atomically thin layered materials. Such two-dimensional materials are easily deteriorated by undesirable surface/interface adsorbates and are screened by a high metal-to-semiconductor contact resistance. The proposed ELA allows one to expect a better electrical performance such as … Show more

“…Microwave irradiationcoupled with a graphitic microwave susceptor , facilitated rapid conversion of incident radiation into thermal energy where temperatures were maintained at ∼1273 K for 10 min for each metal-intercalated CP. In order to obtain binary Mo 6 S 8 , wet chemical etching was employed according to methods discussed by Lancry et al where Cu 2 Mo 6 S 8 was stirred overnight in a 6 M HCl solution with O 2 bubbling …”
