Abstract:Listeria monocytogenes can cause invasive disease in immunocompromised patients. We have retrospectively reviewed the clinical characteristics, treatment and evolution of the cases of listeriosis registered at our center during a long period of 14 years. Listeria monocytogenes infection is potentially serious with high mortality. Therefore, a high index of suspicion and early directed antibiotic treatment are needed, especially for immunocompromised patients.
