“…The positive charge, important to sufficient bacteria photoinactivation, was provided by a liposome ingredient—chloride salt of DOTAP. The size of the liposomes corresponded to earlier prepared formulations [ 55 ]. The average diameter of the obtained liposomes was measured at 301 nm, 188 nm, and 119 nm for 1, 2, and MgPc, respectively ( Table 2 ).…”

“…The photocytotoxicity of tribenzoporphyrazines 1 and 2 against cancer cells was evaluated before. It was reported that among the studied liposomal formulations loaded with 1 and 2, POPC:DOTAP liposomes presented the lowest IC 50 values against oral carcinoma cell lines (CAL-27, HSC-3) [ 45 , 55 ]. A simple topical administration route and an easy light delivery create perspectives for the effective treatment of bacterial infections associated with oral cancers in one medical procedure.…”

“…Since miRNAs are negatively charged, we need a positively charged material to carry miR-139-5p through electrostatic adsorption. DOTAP is a commonly used cationic liposome that is biologically inert, biodegradable, and nonimmunogenic. , It forms a stable transfection complex with the nucleic acid into the cell and releases the nucleic acid into the cell without harm. Therefore, we chose DOTAP as an adjuvant for cationic liposomes.…”

“…[68] Liposomal dendritic magnesium sulfanyl tribenzoporphyrazine Pz 1-3 as PSs [69] activated by NIR irradiation demonstrated significantly better phototoxicity in cancer cell lines (Figure 3). [70] Diazepinoporphyrazines modified with peripheral styryl groups were encapsulated in liposomes for PDT against oral cancer cell lines. [71] The photocytoxicity of Pz1 was increased by nearly 3-fold (from IC 50 45 nm to IC 50 129 nm) compared with that of the solution of Pz1.…”
