Light-Up Nonthiolated Aptasensor for Low-Mass, Soluble Amyloid-β40 Oligomers at High Salt Concentrations

Abstract: Herein, a light-up nonthiolated aptasensor was developed for low-mass, soluble amyloid-β oligomers (LS-Aβ). Au nanoparticles (AuNP) were employed as colorimetric probes, and the nonthiolated aptamers (Apt) were adsorbed on AuNP surfaces, acting as binding elements for LS-Aβ. The aggregation of AuNPs was induced when Apt-modified AuNPs (Apt@AuNPs) were under high-salt conditions. However, upon the addition of LS-Aβ into the Apt@AuNP solution, the salt tolerance of the AuNPs was greatly enhanced. Further studies… Show more

“…So, the results show that the sensitivity is smaller when using a single wavelength and the sensitivity of using absorbance ratio to detect mercury ions is higher. In fact, many similar colorimetric analyses based on spectral shift change mostly use the absorbance ratio to quantify the target to be measured probably because of this [13,17,20]. Moreover, the experimental results (Fig.…”

“…In 2014, a sensitive method for visual chiral recognition of tryptophan was suggested based on the inherent chirality of AuNPs to distinguish Dand L-tryptophan [19]. In 2018 [20], the aptasensor was developed for amyloid-β40 oligomers (LS-Aβ40-O) detection and the aggregation of aptamer-modified AuNPs were regulated based on the interactions between LS-Aβ40-O and Au under high-salt conditions. Because of high molar absorption coefficient and simple preparation of AuNPs, the colorimetric analysis based on AuNPs shows certain sensitivity and simplicity.…”

“…In recent years, several novel small molecular aptamers have been developed to recognize Aβ fibers and oligomers 6 . Specially, after Ikebukuro's team discovered an aptamer sequence which specifically recognized Aβ oligomers 7 , numerous aptamerbased methods were developed to determine Aβ oligomers with different subtypes [8][9][10][11] .…”

“…It is noticeable that the large portion of power consumption in the data center is due to (non-compute) related infrastructure such as buildings, air-conditioning systems etc). Furthermore, the utilization of physical machines of the clusters in data center is sub-optimal with nodes idling around 70% of the time [17][18][19]. It is important to understand the behavior of power utilization for various applications for their intensity of resource utilization.…”
