“…Physical activity is the cornerstone of the prevention of mobility disability in older adults, but the usual recommended volume of training is difficult to achieve in older adults and in the long term. Even though a previous study using MAPT data has shown the positive effects of the MAPT multidomain intervention on overall PA [26], this PA increasing was not enough to improve physical function; this suggests that the multidomain intervention, even among participants with a high adherence, was not strong enough to result in a significant benefit on physical performance. Moreover, the present study failed to demonstrate that ω3-PUFA would potentiate the effects of physical activity for determining physical function in older adults as suggested in exercise training studies in healthy younger adults [11,12] and middle-aged/younger older adults [27].…”

“…The inclusion criteria were as follows: The period of the publishing of the article was not limited; Only reviewed full-text studies in scientific journals in English were included; Only randomized controlled trials, cohort studies, or experimental/cross-sectional studies were involved and they had to include at least two interventions in different domains, of which one had to be diet/nutritional intervention; The primary outcome was aimed at the improvement in cognitive function; The subjects were healthy older individuals aged 50+ years. The exclusion criteria were as follows: The study was in a language other than English; The study did not involve healthy older individuals; The study protocols such as References [ 13 , 14 , 15 ], multidomain lifestyle interventions focusing on just one strategy [ 22 ], single lifestyle intervention studies [ 19 , 23 , 24 ], multidomain lifestyle studies that did not include diet intervention [ 25 ], multidomain lifestyle studies that did not focus on the improvement in cognitive function [ 26 ], and review studies (e.g., References [ 10 , 11 , 27 , 28 ]) were also excluded. …”

“…In two of the studies the primary outcome was reducing frailty (Barreto, 2018;de Vries, 2013), in one study the primary outcome was fall prevention and one of the studies had multiple health outcomes . The participants represented in our synthesis are significantly older than previous syntheses, with mean ages range from 71.6 to 85.3.…”

“…For all groups of participants represented, at least one between-group statistic was reported. Six of the studies utilized objective measures of PA outcomes, such as accelerometer and pedometer (Barreto et al, 2018.…”
