“…Several studies have reported that expressions of iNOS [10,49], TNFα [50], NF-κB [51] and caspase-3 [52] were increased signifi cantly in doxorubicin induced nephrotoxicity. Also, it has been reported that doxorubicin induced a signifi cant increase in the expression of TNFα, NF-κB, caspase-3 in the testes of rats [53,54]. Similar to previous studies, TNFα, NF-κB, caspase-3 and iNOS immunoreactivities were found to be signifi cantly high in testes and kidneys of rats treated with doxorubicin only in the present study.…”

“…51 In present study, the results indicated that DOX induced hepatotoxicity via the expression of inammatory and apoptotic markers. 52 Evidence showed that DOX could inhibit the content of Bcl-2 in liver, and then promoted the release of cytochrome c. Moreover, cytochrome c activates the downstream apoptotic signaling like caspase-3 and leads to the apoptosis. 53 Due to our study, YQFM reduced the expression of apoptosis BAX/Bcl-2 ratio, caspase-3 and cytochrome c in damaged-liver, demonstrating the protection to DOX-induced toxicity through inhibiting the release of apoptotic proteins.…”

“…A rich composition of polyunsaturated fatty acids in the mammalian sperm cell membrane makes the cell sensitive to free radicals. There are many experimental studies reporting that increased ROS levels decrease sperm motility and quality and increase the rate of sperm death in the semen . Using antioxidant compounds may be a useful and important strategy for preventing male infertility caused by chemotherapy.…”

“…In another study, Trivedi et al suggested that hesperetin ameliorated DOX‐induced oxidative stress, DNA damage, and germ cell toxicity. Kabel reported that DOX treatment decreased the sperm count and motility while increasing the percentage of abnormal sperm and dead sperm cells and also induced apoptosis in testicular tissue. However, treatment with zinc, alogliptin, and a combination of the two attenuated these effects.…”
