Abstract: Use of blastocysts produced in vitro would be an efficient way to generate embryonic stem (ES) cells for the production of transgenic animals and the study of developmental gene regulation. In pigs, the morphology and cell number of in vitro-produced blastocysts are inferior to these parameters in their in vivo counterparts.
