“…Also, the obtained results TAC and GSH concentration recorded significant decrease in (G1) compared with (G2) while 8-OHdG and MDA enzyme showed significant increase. This results agreed with Inas et al (2019) and Baithalu et al (2017) who explain the decrease in total antioxidant to the over consumption of the total antioxidant during the protection against the invading organism. Bacterial infection sufficient to overwhelm the antioxidant defense uterus and cause cell damage, resulting in reductions in serum TCA and Gpx activities and an increase in MDA concentration.…”

“…In vivo knockout studies have shown that mice lacking the entire GPX4 gene experience early embryonic lethality (Imai et al 2003) and that GPX4-deficient male mice are infertile (Schneider et al 2009). Although the presence of GPX4 has been shown in uteri from cows (Ramos et al 2015, Baithalu et al 2017 and pigs (Dalto et al 2015), the localization and physiological role of GPX4 has not been demonstrated in human and rodent reproductive tissues, including the uterus. Here, we show that GPX4 is widely expressed in the nonpregnant and pregnant rat uteri, including decidualized stromal cells.…”

“…In vivo knockout studies have shown that mice lacking the entire Gpx4 gene are early embryonic lethal (55), and Gpx4-deficient male mice are completely infertile (56). Although the presence of Gpx4 has been shown in uteri from cows (57, 58) and pigs (59), the physiological role and localization of Gpx4 have not been demonstrated in human and rodent reproductive tissues, including the uterus. Here, we show that Gpx4 is widely expressed in the human and rat uterus, including by decidualized stromal cells.…”
