28 Cases of Traumatic Posterior Fossa Extra Dural Hematoma Our Experience : Case Series

Abstract

A retrospective study of 28 1 cases of traumatic posterior fossa Extra dural hematoma 2,3 in King George Hospital, Visakhapatnam from August 2012 to February 2015. This study was aimed to present the experience in treating patients with traumatic posterior fossa extra dural hematoma 2 and to discuss the clinical features, risk factors 4 and outcome. 5 Posterior fossa extradural hematoma 2,3 uncommon but potentially fatal condition. The incidence of posterior fossa extra dural hematoma 2,3 among intracranial extra dural hematomas has been reported 4% to 7%. Occipital skull bone fracture with venous sinus bleeding that resulted in a posterior fossa extradural haematoma. 2 low Gcs [or] hematoma more than 10ml were subjected to evacuation. Since the volume of the posterior fossa 6 is small, patients deteriorate early because of compression of vital structures in the brain stem, development of obstructive hydrocephalus, which is visible in the CT scan in only thirty percent of cases.
