Validité et reproductibilité des applications téléphoniques pour évaluer les amplitudes de mouvement en pratique clinique: revue de littérature Résumé Objectifs : Revue de littérature sur les tests de validité et de reproductibilités (intra et interévaluateurs) des applications sur smartphone permettant de mesurer une amplitude de mouvement en degrés. Méthode : Les articles, en anglais et en français, ont été cherchés en utilisant les mots clés : « healthy subjects », « phone », « range of motion », validity », « reliability » et « repeatability » sur les bases de données PubMed / Medline, ScienceDirect, Pedro et Kinedoc. Une synthèse a été réalisée et chaque étude a été évaluée par le score Qarel. Résultats : Au total, 512 études ont été identifiées. Suite aux différentes étapes de sélection, 18 articles ont été recrutés. 5 articles sur le rachis, 6 articles sur le membre inférieur et 7 articles sur le membre supérieur. Au total, 601 sujets asymptomatiques ont été testés. Le score Qarel moyen était de 7.61/12 (min :6/ max :9). Discussion et conclusion : Les applications téléphoniques goniométriques et inclinométriques peuvent être utilisées pour mesurer des amplitudes de mouvement. Néanmoins, ces applications doivent être utilisées avec précaution pour les rotations cervicales et de hanches, pour les mouvements de l'hallux et de l'épaule. Following the selection criteria, 18 articles were included, with 5 for cervical and lumbar motions, 6 for lower limb and 7 for upper limb. These studies included 601 healthy subjects. The mean Qarel score was 7.61/12 (min:6/max:9). Discussion and conclusion:Goniometric and inclinometric smartphone applications can be used to measure range of motion. However, these applications should be used with caution for cervical and hip rotations, for hallux movements and on the shoulder. Objective To investigate the within-day and between-day test-retest reliability of hip abduction, internal rotation, and external rotation strength measurements taken using a portable device externally stabilizing a handheld dynamometer in healthy participants. Design Observational study. Setting Institute of Technology Carlow, Ireland, a third-level education institute. Participants Healthy participants (N=18; 11 male, 7 female) who participate in a field sport for more than 2 hours per week were recruited via convenience sampling. Interventions Not applicable. Main Outcome Measures Hip abduction, internal rotation, and external rotation peak force during a maximal voluntary isometric contraction (N). The 3 best values recorded for each movement for each day were used to analyze within-day and between-day test-retest reliability. Intraclass correlation coefficients (ICCs), coefficients of variance, standard error of measurement, and minimal detectable change statistics were also calculated. Results External fixation of a handheld dynamometer produced excellent test-retest reliability for within-day (ICC>0.934) and between-day (ICC>0.802) contexts. Conclusions Clinical measurements of hip strength can be performed reliably, efficiently, and cost effectively using the methods described. Furthermore, the use of external fixation eliminates the influence of tester strength on the handheld dynamometry measurements.
