“…Ramírez-Sebastià et al 14) reported that post application and post lengths had no effect on the fracture strength of restorations because no statistically significant differences were obtained among the endocrowns and the crowns with long glass fiber post and short glass fiber post. In other works, cavity depths were investigated in terms of marginal and internal adaptations for molars, and it was revealed 8 Dent Mater J 2018; : -that the discrepancy was increased with the deepening of the cavity 46,47) . In our study, which investigated the effect of central teeth preparation depths on the fracture strength of endocrowns, it was aimed to provide relevant data for clinical applications.…”

“…To provide both an expedient coronal seal and definitive cuspal coverage restoration, the endocrown may provide an efficient treatment option. However, Biacchi and colleagues suggested endocrowns are best limited for molar restoration as bicuspids may present with unfavorable mastication force vectors, with Bindl et al further noting that bicuspids have less available bonding surface, greater height to width ratio, and smaller pulp chamber dimensions which all serve to intensify lever force vectors. These reports were recently reinforced by Guo and colleagues who reported that endocrowns displayed no advantage compared to conventional methods of restoring endodontically treated mandibular bicuspids.…”

“…For the restoration of endodontically treated teeth, CAD/CAM advocates emphasize the “endocrown” method, which consists of a merged crown and core unit adhesively bonded into the pulp chamber and the remaining tooth structure . The endocrown method is said to provide a more conservative option to traditional post and core restorative strategies while providing equitable results . Dejak and Młotkowski using an in silico finite element analysis reported that under simulated masticatory function the endocrown had lower dentin stress concentration than compared to traditional post and core methods.…”

“…In the two in-vitro included studies, the convergence angle was almost the same; being 10 o in one study and a range between [8][9][10] o in the other, hence such factor can be eliminated when comparing the results of both studies. Optical impression technique (CEREC Bluecam), designing and milling was employed in both studies following the same procedures in the Cerec AC groups, however in one study E4D was additionally used in a separate group.…”

“…Of the 8 studies remained for detailed reviewing, 6 studies could not be included: 1 case study [2]; 1 study analyzed only fracture resistance and micro-leakage [3]; and 4 studies evaluated marginal adaptation but did not evaluate the effect of preparation depth [4][5][6][7]. Only two studies [8][9] were included in the present systematic review. …”
