“…Virologic surveillance in China is currently by far the most complete of any country with 497 sequences reported from China compared to only 809 sequences reported from elsewhere in the world in the last 6 years15. This study extends previous work defining lineages within genotypes 1E and 2B using Chinese RV sequences from the 739 nt region of the E1 ORF.…”

“…To evaluate the performance of our system as a potential serosurveillance tool, we performed field testing in Kakuma, a refugee camp located in remote northwestern Kenya. The field test results were compared with reference tests [measles IgG and rubella IgG enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISAs) from Siemens Enzygnost] performed by the national laboratory at Kenya Medical Re search Institute (KEMRI), which is accredited by the WHO Global Measles-Rubella Laboratory Network (32). The results demonstrate a potential role for DMF in serosurveillance, particularly in areas where centralized laboratories are unavailable.…”

“…[5][6][7][8] The World Health Organization's (WHO) Measles and Rubella Laboratory Network has recommended the collection of RUBV genotype data to support control and elimination programs globally. 9,10 This recommendation has been successfully implemented in countries that have eliminated endemic rubella and CRS, whereas in Africa this implementation is still lagging. In Cameroon, surveillance of rubella or CRS is not yet implemented.…”
