ADP-Ribosylation Factor 1 Regulates Proliferation, Migration, and Fusion in Early Stage of Osteoclast Differentiation

Abstract: Small G-protein adenosine diphosphate (ADP)-ribosylation factors (ARFs) regulate a variety of cellular functions, including actin cytoskeleton remodeling, plasma membrane reorganization, and vesicular transport. Here, we propose the functional roles of ARF1 in multiple stages of osteoclast differentiation. ARF1 was upregulated during receptor activator of nuclear factor kappa-B ligand (RANKL)-induced osteoclast differentiation and transiently activated in an initial stage of their differentiation. Differentiat… Show more

“…Adherence and migration to the bone surface play essential roles during early stage of osteoclast differentiation ( Kim et al, 2015 ). Thus, we assessed the effect of ELMO1 on adhesion and migration in osteoclast precursors.…”

“…For instance, ADP‐ribosylation factor 1 (Arf1) regulates asymmetric cell division in mouse oocyte meiosis through the MAPK signaling pathway (Wang et al, 2009). In addition, human Arf1 expression is positively correlated with cell proliferation (Xu et al, 2017), and mouse Arf1 regulates proliferation in the early stage of mouse osteoclast differentiation (Kim et al, 2015). In summary, ZmArf2 is highly conserved, and it may enlarge plant tissues by promoting cell proliferation.…”

“…Fourth, ADPribosylation factor 1 is a GTP-binding protein that functions as an allosteric activator of ADP-ribosyltransferase. is multifunctional protein can regulate cell proliferation, migration, and fusion [55]. Finally, Cytochrome P450 (CYP) is the sole enzyme responsible for the production of aldosterone in humans [56] and participates in the metabolism of therapeutic drugs, fatty acids, eicosanoids, sterols, steroids, Figure 3: Compound-target networks.…”
