Abstract: PLT is closely correlated with GBC prognosis and could be used to identify the population with a poorer prognosis after surgery.

“…On the other hand, there are no common invasive behaviors that predict prognosis in all BTC patients. In recent studies with 200 or more BTC patients, the independent prognostic factors for nodal metastasis were tumor size, vascular invasion, and intrahepatic metastasis in ICC, differentiation, liver invasion, and pancreas invasion in ECC, TNM stage in GB, and perineural invasion in Va . There were no common independent prognostic factors for nodal metastasis in all BTC patients.…”

“…Due to the low incidence of GBC, few studies have examined the correlations between inflammation-related factors and GBC prognosis. The inflammation-related factors explored in previous studies include platelet count (PLT)[ 35 ], platelet to lymphocyte ratio (PLR)[ 32 , 33 ], neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio (NLR)[ 36 , 37 ] and plasma fibrinogen level[ 30 ].…”

“…Wang et al[ 35 ] showed that a PLT > 178 Ă— 10 9 /L was significantly correlated with worse prognosis of GBC (HR = 1.541, 95%CI: 1.038-2.287, P = 0.032) and identified 178 Ă— 10 9 /L as the optimal cut-off value (AUC = 0.798, 95%CI: 0.737-0.858, sensitivity: 0.746, specificity: 0.722). The prognostic accuracy of PLT for GBC was higher than that of plasma fibrinogen in our study (AUC = 0.735, 95%CI: 0.654-0.816, sensitivity: 0.709, specificity: 0.721).…”

“…Another study performed by Chiu, who developed a quality of life predictive model after surgical resection of HCC, also considered GPR an independent prognostic factor[ 9 ]. According to evidence that both gamma-glutamyl transferase (GGT)[ 10 ] and platelet count (PLT)[ 11 ] are proposed prognostic predictors of various cancers, GPR is also a potential clinical predictor of GBC; however, the relationship between GPR and prognosis and outcomes in patients with GBC remains unclear.…”
